Why is it important to exfoliate?

Exfoliating your skin is one of the most important things you can do especially as your skin starts to age.

Exfoliating 2-3 times a week, not only makes you have extra glowing skin, but helps the products you use work. When you remove the dead, dull skin cells from the surface this allows your products to penetrate deeper helping them do their job. You can have the most expensive serums and creams, but if they just lie on top of the skin this will stop them working as well. I have oily skin so my favourite exfoliator I use is ‘Advanced Doctor’s Scrub’ from Goldfaden MD

I have used lots of exfoliators over the years, but this is the best I’ve ever used and feels like I have had a proper deep facial. After exfoliating, I normally apply a hydrating mask, like the ‘Hydrosol Sheet Masks’ from Aromatherapy Associates, a good facial oil like the ‘Superseed Soothing Hydration Organic Facial Oil’ by Madara or my favourite serum for the summer months is ‘Hyaluronic Acid Serum’ from The Organic Pharmacy.

My suggestions for exfoliators for the different skin types would be:
Oily – Doctor’s Scrub, Goldfaden MD
Combination – Face Scrub for Glowing Radiance, ila Spa
Dry – Rose Diamond Exfoliating Cleanser, The Organic Pharmacy
Sensitive – Oil to Milk Scrub, Madara

Remember to always use a good factor when in the sun especially after exfoliating.
